Course Description

This qualification is for candidates whose first language is not English and they assess the four skills of Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. The topics and tasks covered are relevant to learners and are related to everyday work, study, community and social situations. The course covers the unites below.

This qualification is for candidates whose first language is not English and they assess the four skills of Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. The topics and tasks covered are relevant to learners and are related to everyday work, study, community and social situations.The course provide a progression pathway for learners who need to improve their English language to progress to study further qualifications or develop their employment opportunities.
This course is delivered through a combination of classroom delivery and additional learning opportunities, using a range of Information learning technology and events. Learners are encouraged to develop independent and project based learning.

There are no entry requirements or any prior qualification to do this course. All learners will be initially assessed as a part of the enrolment procedure to make sure they are placed in the right group. The only requirements are as follows:
You must be 19 years or over, unemployed, claiming a central or local government benefit and not currently on the Work Programme.

  • Be a UK resident for 3 years plus or
  • An EU national and EEA resident for 3 years plus or
  • Some categories of Asylum seekers and refugees (Please ring us and ask)

After completing this course learners can progress onto academic or vocational courses in Further Education or employment. Alternatively this course can allow you to enter general employment. Learners are helped to improve their essential skills which will in turn enhance their employment prospects.

  3. Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry

This course is free to do if you are training through your employer (you may qualify for funding) otherwise its £150.00
